Soil Remediation

The growing industrial activities, rapid urbanization, highest consumption rates, and non-safe human practices have greatly increased soil pollution with contaminants including organic pollutants, heavy metal contamination, radioactive materials, plastics, etc. Contaminated soil is one whose physical, chemical, or biological characteristics have been negatively altered by the presence of components in such concentration that entails a risk to human health or the environment. With the exposure of soil pollution and the rise of people's awareness of soil conservation, the demand for soil remediation is rising rapidly and soil remediation is urgent. Alfa Chemistry is an environmental remediation company specializing in soil remediation. Our teams of experienced engineers and scientists provide customized soil remediation services that are well received by our clients worldwide. We sincerely hope to bring this rich experience and professional technology to each of our customers in need.

Our Soil Remediation Capacity

Alfa Chemistry offers a wide range of soil remediation services. Our service capabilities can cover the following areas.

Our Soil Remediation Capacity

In addition, we have the ability to repair and treat many types of soil pollution. The main categories of soil pollutants are listed in the table below.

TypesPollutants
Inorganic pollutantsChromium, cadmium, mercury, copper, zinc, nickel, arsenic, lead, etc.
Organic pollutantsPesticides, petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile organic pollutants, semi-volatile organic pollutants, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, etc.
Radioactive pollutantsUranium, strontium, cesium, etc.
Pathogenic pollutantsIntestinal bacteria, bacillus anthracis, intestinal parasites, mycobacterium tuberculosis, etc.

Core Technologies

Alfa Chemistry has rich experience in soil remediation and has mastered a variety of soil remediation technologies. The commonly used soil remediation technologies in Alfa Chemistry can be divided into three categories of chemical remediation technologies, biological remediation technologies and physical remediation technologies.

  • Chemical remediation technologies: The technology involves the separation, degradation, conversion or stabilization of contaminants into a low-toxicity, non-toxic and harmless form by using chemical treatment techniques, or precipitation and removal, polymerization and complexation of contaminants by reaction of chemical repair agent with contaminants. The technology mainly includes soil leaching, solvent extraction, chemical oxidation, chemical reduction and reduction dechlorination, stabilization/solidification (S/S) and so on. It has short implementation cycle and can be used to treat various pollutants.
  • Biological remediation technologies: The technology uses plants, animals and microorganisms to absorb, degrade and transform pollutants that will reduce the concentration of pollutants to acceptable levels, or to convert toxic and harmful substances into non-toxic and harmless substances. It mainly includes microbial remediation (natural attenuation, biostimulation, bioventing, bioaugmentation, composting, landfarming, biopiling and bioreactors), phytoremediation and vermiremediation. The technology has the advantage of environmental protection and is suitable for various soil environments.

  • Physical remediation technologies: The technology physically separates contaminants from the soil. It mainly includes electrokinetic remediation, soil vapor extraction and thermal remediation. Physical remediation is often used in conjunction with chemical remediation. It is mainly used for remediation of inorganic pollutants in contaminated soil and suitable for small-scale contaminated soil treatment.
