Noise Control Methods

There are three ways to control noise and the details are as follows.

Control of the sound source

The method mainly includes improving the equipment technology of the noise source, improving the assembly accuracy of the equipment and other measures to reduce the noise produced by the equipment fundamentally.

Take protective measures at the receiving point

The receiving point refers to the protection target, usually the human body. At present, noise-canceling earplugs are commonly used to deal with noise in this way.

Noise control in the route of transmission

This method mainly includes sound insulation, sound absorption, noise elimination and vibration reduction. Sound insulation is the use of soundproofing materials to separate noise source from human beings; Sound absorption is the use of sound absorbing materials to absorb sound waves generated by noise; Noise elimination usually refers to noise control using a muffler, a device that allows air to pass through while effectively reducing noise; Vibration reduction refers to cut off the rigid connection between the noise source equipment and the supporting structure.

Generally, although the first and second methods are feasible, they both have certain limitations in the actual operation process. The third method has the advantages of simple operation and obvious effect, and is widely used in noise control at present.
